The University of the Western Cape Faculty of Education Book Series provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary platform for advancing teacher education through research, practice, and policy discourse. The series critically engages with contemporary learning theories, innovative pedagogies, and emerging challenges in education to shape the future of teaching and learning.

Key focus areas include mathematics education, science education, language education, educational psychology, information technology, computer-aided technology, coding and robotics, accounting, economics, business studies, work-integrated learning, teaching practice, 21st-century skills, leadership and management, post-school studies, and the development of beginner teachers. Additionally, the series explores the role of artificial intelligence and evolving technologies, transformative community engagement, and global perspectives on teacher development.

Aligned with the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this series contributes to achieving SDG 4 (quality education), SDG 5 (gender equality), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), SDG 16 (peace, justice, and strong institutions), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals).

By fostering knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration, this series aims to equip educators with the critical insights and skills needed to navigate the complexities of modern education, support novice teachers in their professional growth, and contribute to meaningful, sustainable educational transformation.

The series is led by Professor Rajendran Govender (rgovender@uwc.ac.za) from the University of the Western Cape Faculty of Education in collaboration with AOSIS.
